Chief Financial Officer, Miami

We are partnering with a growing, PR business located in downtown Miami. Our client has been providing data driven marketing solutions to their client for several years. As a result of continued growth we are embarking on a process to appoint a CFO.  The CFO will partner the leadership team to drive business performance and will have oversight of the financial management of the business through effective leadership of a small finance team. This role would suit an experienced CFO or Chief Accounting Officer with a background in the service sector or a Controller or VP Finance who is ready to take the next step in their career and move up into a CFO position.

The CFO will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and in partnership with the CEO preparing growth plans.
• Directing finance staff, mentoring and developing the team. Determine accountabilities within the finance team; communicating values, policies, and procedures.
• Develop financial strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to enable strategic thinking and direction.
• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
• Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with third party stakeholders.
• Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances and developing improvements.

To be successful in this role the CFO will have the following skills and experience:

• MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant certification a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
• Strong experience of financial planning and strategy, managing profitability and driving business performance.
• Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
• Ability to define strategic direction implement strategy and vision.
• Promotion of process improvement to drive efficiency.
• Budget development and forecasting.
• Corporate finance
• Experience in a senior management position.
• Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
