CFO Recruit is partnering a SAAS client in San Jose to appoint a CFO. The CFO will play a key role in driving the financial strategy and performance, leading all financial aspects from accounting and reporting to forecasting and analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of financial models, subscription revenue forecasting, capital raising, and requires a proactive approach to financial planning to support growth goals.
As a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, the CFO will develop and implement robust financial systems and processes, oversee financial compliance, and provide insights that support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, aligned with our strategic objectives.
- Oversee all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead the budgeting process and continuous forecasting, with a focus on subscription revenue models, customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and other SaaS KPIs.
- Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls, and maintain effective risk management practices.
- Drive funding strategies to support growth, including debt and equity financing, and manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Partner with teams to improve financial operations and efficiency, including billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow management.
- Collaborate with the executive team to influence the overall company strategy, provide financial insights, and support business decisions with data-backed recommendations.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or similar executive role, ideally within a SaaS or technology company.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and financial models, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and subscription-based financial forecasting.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance teams in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in financial software (ERP systems), Excel, and other tools relevant to financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
The compensation advertised is a guideline and compensation offered will be commensurate with experience.
