CFO Recruit is partnering a utilities company in Atlanta to appoint a CFO to lead the financial operations and strategy of the organization. This executive-level role is critical to driving financial excellence and ensuring long-term organizational success in a regulated and dynamic industry. The CFO will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the utilities industry and using their analytical mindset will be able to interpret complex financial data. They will adopt a collaborative leadership style with a focus on cross-functional teamwork and will be able to adapt and show resilience in navigating a dynamic and regulated environment.
The CFO will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with its overall business objectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial planning, forecasting, and investment opportunities.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze financial performance and develop strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market volatility, credit, and operational risks.
- Lead capital planning efforts, including funding strategies for infrastructure projects and other capital-intensive initiatives.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders.
- Drive cost management initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to align financial and operational goals.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
- Build a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional financial management and support.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management within the utilities or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in the utilities industry.
- Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

The salary advertized for this role is a guideline, the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
