Interim CFO, Remote (20-40 hours per week)
CFO Recruit is partnering a family office to engage an interim CFO for between 20 and 40 hours per week. We are seeking an experienced and strategic CFO who will work closely with the CEO, providing critical financial insights and guidance across the portfolio. This role encompasses budgeting and planning, cashflow management, and financial statement preparation to ensure the financial health and performance of investments and ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement financial strategies that support the overall objectives of the family office.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to drive decision-making and improve portfolio performance.
- Oversee the budgeting process, including the preparation, monitoring, and revision of budgets across all entities in the portfolio.
- Develop and maintain cashflow forecasts to ensure liquidity and optimal use of resources.
- Manage and optimize cashflow across various investments and operations, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and report on cash positions, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operational and investment needs.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cashflow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports to present to the CEO and other stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Work with external auditors and advisors as needed to maintain compliance and manage audits.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the success of various investments and business ventures.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance and achieve strategic goals.
- Regularly review and update financial models to reflect changes in the business environment and portfolio composition.
Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a family office, investment firm, or similar environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cashflow management.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
