Chief Financial Officer, New York

CFO Recruit is partnering a telecoms business in New York to appoint a CFO.  The role requires an experienced CFO to take ownership of the financial and strategic direction of the company. The CFO will be closely aligned with the CEO to define a 5 year plan to expedite the company’s growth. The position would suit a CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, VP Finance. The CFO will have the following responsibilities:

• Oversee the finance department with overall responsibility for the financial management of the company.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team and operations teams.
• Provide recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on analysis of business performance, highlighting opportunities and risks.
• Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
• Assist the executive team on medium and long-term financial and business planning.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with external partners, stakeholders and investors.
• Track cash flow and analyze the company’s financial weaknesses and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the business.
• Review and continually improve processes across finance, HR and operations.

To be successful in this role the CFO will have the following experience:

• Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or similar role.
• CPA is a strong advantage.
• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.
• In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
