Chief Financial Officer

CFO is partnering with an engineering business in San Antonio to recruit a CFO.  This role would suit a Director of Finance or CFO with a track record in a financial leadership position.  The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team with responsibility for oversight of the financial operations and strategy of the company. This role requires someone with a mindset of continuous improvement and able to work cross functionally driving operational efficiencies.  The CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with other senior leaders to align financial strategies and implement improvements using LEAN and Kaizan principles.

The CFO will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support business objectives and drive long-term growth.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements within the manufacturing process.
  • Present business cases to the Executive team for capital projects highlighting potential return on investment.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including GAAP, SEC, and tax filings.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure proper financial controls and audits are conducted.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s assets and ensure financial stability.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risks, including currency exchange and interest rate fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with the COO and other operational leaders to drive financial performance, identify operational efficiencies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve inventory management, reduce waste, and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of an improved ERP system to enhance financial and operational processes.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, investors, and other financial partners.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing insights and recommendations on business decisions and growth opportunities.
  • Participate in board meetings and present financial performance, strategic plans, and risk assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and financial controls.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance and managing complex financial operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software, such as SAP or Oracle, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
