CFO Recruit is partnering with a client in the Philadelphia area to appoint a CFO in a full time, permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a privately owned, growing business to support continued growth, both organic and through acquisition. This role would suit candidates with a proven track record in the service or technology sectors.
As a key member of the executive team the CFO will have responsibility for all aspects of financial strategy, reporting, modeling, and capital raising. This includes ownership of accounting and financial controls, cash management and the development of sophisticated financial models that support business and investor reporting. The CFO will also have a lead role in raising debt and equity finance. This position would suit a VP Finance, Director of Finance or CFO happy to work in both a hands on and strategic capacity.
We are considering candidates open to working in a hybrid capacity, there is a requirement to attend meetings and spend some time on-site on a monthly basis.
The CFO will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee all budgeting, accounting, financial operations, and treasury functions across the organization.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting, GAAP and regulatory.
- Manage liquidity and cash flow forecasting.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls, accounting systems, and operational efficiency.
- Lead coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party administrators.
- Work closely with internal teams to develop and refine projections and optimize company performance.
- Develop and lead financial modeling for the business.
- Actively participate in the development and execution of capital formation activities, including senior debt and equity raises.
- Manage relationships with third party stakeholders including investment partners and investors, banks, lenders and others.
- Support investor due diligence processes and reporting requirements.
Skills and qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar credential preferred.
- 10 years of financial leadership experience in the areas of responsibility.
- Industry experience in financial services, fintech or related industries.
- Proven success in capital raising, structured finance, and managing investor relationships.
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, including Excel, forecasting tools, and valuation methodologies.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
