Our client is an established manufacturing company based in Houston, Texas with a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and financial excellence. An opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive team.
The CFO will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, overseeing the successful upgrade of the ERP system, leading team restructuring efforts and supporting operational efficiencies through the implementation of LEAN principles across the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong financial background and a proven track record of driving financial growth and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.
The CFO will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team to support decision-making and drive sustainable growth.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and management of a comprehensive ERP system upgrade project. Collaborate with IT, operations, and key stakeholders to define requirements, ensure data accuracy, and optimize financial reporting processes.
- Evaluate the finance and accounting team structure, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. Develop clear roles and responsibilities, promote cross-functional collaboration, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive cost savings, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls. Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and optimize financial performance.
- Closely partner the COO to implement an operational efficiency and LEAN implementation. Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and waste reduction. Implement LEAN principles and best practices to drive operational excellence and enhance productivity across the organization.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly financial statements, KPIs, and financial forecasts. Communicate financial performance, trends, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership, investors, and external stakeholders.
The CFO will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience (10 years) in financial leadership roles in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and experience leading ERP system upgrades or implementations.
- Expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align financial goals with overall business objectives and drive organizational change.
- Experience in team leadership, talent development, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
