Our client is a leading food processing business based in Philadelphia, PA. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive team and drive financial strategies that align with business goals. The CFO will play a crucial role in preparing the business for refinancing, reviewing and implementing improved processes and controls and leading a restructuring program to facilitate cost reduction and efficiency improvements. The CFO will work closely with the wider business to lead contractual negotiations for improved margins.
The CFO will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial models to support refinancing strategy and produce robust forecasts and budgets to guide strategic decision-making.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying key metrics, providing insights to support business growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with executive team and external advisors to prepare the business for refinancing activities.
- Assess current financial structures, debt obligations, and capital requirements to optimize financial leverage.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Establish reporting mechanisms for monitoring financial KPIs and variances, providing timely insights to stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to restructure operations, streamline processes, and identify cost-saving opportunities across departments.
- Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses and recommend strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve efficiencies.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and partners to improve terms, reduce costs, and enhance margins.
- Analyze contractual agreements for compliance, risk mitigation, and profitability optimization.
- Partner with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations on capital allocation, investment opportunities, and risk management.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- CPA qualified Accountant with at least 10 years progressive experience.
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in the food processing or related industry.
- Strong financial modeling, analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills.
- Expertise in financial controls, risk management, and compliance.
- Experience in restructuring, cost reduction, and operational efficiency improvement.
- Demonstrated success with a commercial mindset to negotiate contracts and improve profitability.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive cross-functional collaboration.
